Steves Story

✟ Steve began his preaching ministry in 1980 as an evangelist in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and California with his base of ministry centered in Russellville, Arkansas.  First Assembly of God in Hector, Arkansas, under Reverend Kenneth Bull, became his home church.

 In 1985, Steve moved to Nashville, Tennessee and became staff evangelist with Millersville Assembly of God under the leadership of Reverend Paul Baggett.

 In 1988, Steve McCuin accepted his first pastorate in Dayton, Tennessee.  A small home missions work with great potential.  The first Sunday brought 8 in attendance, including Steve’s family.  Looking back, there was no doubt that God had called him as an evangelist to dig out this work for a pastor.  This process took 3 years to complete, resulting in the purchase of a new parsonage and additional property for future relocation and a ministry base of over 100 constituents.

✟ In 1991, Steve McCuin joined the staff of Cornerstone Assembly of god in Fresno, California under the leadership of Pastor Terry L. Bates.  Cornerstone was a fellowship of approximately 1250 people.  While in Fresno, they assisted in the planting of 3 churches from the Cornerstone congregation as well as helping to establish a variety of new ministries and outreach extensions.  By the end of 1992, Pastor Bates informed the staff of his impending resignation and encouraged them to plan for a transition. 

✟ In the late fall of 1992, Steve returned to Tennessee to seek the will of the Lord.  Tennessee District Superintendent, Gene Jackson, and board members of the Dayton First Assembly of God church asked if they would return for a short period of time during their search for a pastorate or until God revealed His will for Steve.

 In May 1993, Steve was compelled to move to Glenwood, Arkansas, (where Steve’s parents, R.H. and Barbara McCuin, resided as pastors of Glenwood Freewill Baptist Chruch) in order to preach revivals and camp meetings that were scheduled through the end of the year.  However, on May 28, Steve was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome and was hospitalized.  Seven days later, he lay paralyzed and completely dependent on a respirator for each breath and uncertain of life and ministry.

 Eight days later, Reverend Paul Baggett drove to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas to anoint Steve with oil and pray the prayer of faith for his healing.  He told the nurses to get Steve a room ready because God was about to perform a miracle. The next day, the miracle came and Steve began to breathe on his own and so began the journey to full recovery. Steve was then admitted to Levi Rehabilitation Center, where he had to relearn all of the activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, dressing, etc. Praise the Lord for a much needed miracle!

 On November 7, 1993, Steve McCuin was elected as the Senior Pastor of First Assembly of God, White Hall, a multi- cultural church. The church grew from 125 to over 500 in less than 2 years. This became the most incredible learning experience a pastor could possibly have. 

 1996, Faith Tabernacle, Oklahoma City, and Pastor Terry L. Bates requested Steve’s assistance in rebuilding that great church. Responsibilities included; working with the day to day operations with other staff members; media ministries; dramas; music ministries; and specialized evangelism events, development, planning and marketing for the 1.2 million dollar remodeling project for the church and revitalization of the overall vision.

 Late 1996, Steve returned to Russellville, Arkansas with intentions of planting a new church.  During the interim, he filled in at Pleasant Grove Assembly of God while praying where God would have him plant a church. While remaining at Pleasant Grove the church grew from 31 to over 100 in just a few months. The church grew to a consistent body of 150 people and Steve remained as Pastor.  Pleasant Grove is located in a rural community and is considered a vibrant rural church.

 April 1999 Steve returned to Nashville Tennessee to fulfill a dream of working in the Gospel Music Industry, and travel in full time ministry. Steve established a recording studio on Nashville’s famous Music Row in the renowned United Artist Towers where he recorded and produced 100s of songs for TV and Radio Commercials, Publishers, Gospel and Secular recording artist. Steve also traveled in full time ministry to Canada, The Philippines and across the United States during this time.

 February 2001 Tennessee District Superintendent Gene Jackson asked Steve to explore the possibility of establishing a church in Whitehouse Tennessee. After the first Sunday, he fell in love with the eight (8) people who were trying to start a church in this bedroom community 20 miles from Nashville, Tennessee. The church grew quickly from it’s first location which was a local laundry mat and needed a new facility. The Tennessee District Assemblies of God (TDAG) offered to help with the monthly lease and the church moved to a 4000 sq ft office building in July of 2001. The church later purchased a 10 acre tract of land on I-65 and the TDAG help to secure financing for a new 21000 sq ft facility right on the interstate. In January, 2006, after the building was completed, Pastor Steve McCuin handed the reigns to the new TDAG Superintendent Eddie Turner and Pastor Dan Smith. The church now known as Northridge Church  has an average attendance of over 1000 and is a powerful force in the community.

January 2006 to2010. Steve McCuin worked with a small group of about 50 people who desired to plant another church. Steve traveled and ministered 1-2 weeks a month while planting Crossroads Church later known as Family Of Faith.

In September of 2006, Steve was invited to Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) Oklahoma City to share the testimony of his healing in 1993.

In 2007 Steve Received his Doctorate of Divinity from Golden State School of Theology.

In 2009 Steve and his family were featured on The World Wide Television show called WORLD’S STRICTEST PARENTS appearing on CMT, MTV, VH1, and major networks around the world.

In 2010 Steve went through a terrible biblical separation and divorce seemingly ending his ministry and everything he had worked his entire life to accomplish. BUT GOD…GOD had another plan. Steve Married the love of his life… Michelle…

In December 2011, Steve suffered a stroke that doctors were sure would end his ministry…BUT GOD…God had another plan and Steve was miraculously healed….AGAIN.

January 2012 Steve and Michelle became the Pastors of THE BRIDGE CHURCH in Cabot Arkansas beginning with 25 people. The Bridge is now a strong and thriving congregation with over 300 constituents.

Steve also travels speaking and singing around the nation in churches and conferences as well as making local and national television appearances. He is an author ,studio musician, singer, songwriter, music producer, church growth consultant, and father of six children and 3 grandchildren.
